Welcome Demonstrations Key Features Overview Oracle HTTP Server is the Web server component of Oracle Application Server 10 g Release 2 (10.1.2). Oracle HTTP Server is a robust, reliable Web server based on the Apache HTTP Server, version 1.3. It includes these major components: HTTP Listener: Oracle HTTP Server is based on an Apache HTTP listener to serve client requests. An HTTP server listener handles incoming requests and routes them to the appropriate processing utility. Modules (mods): Many of the standard Apache modules are included with Oracle HTTP Server, as well as several internal modules that are Oracle-specific, such as mod_ossl, mod_osso, and mod_oc4j. Security through mod_security: mod_security is an open source intrusion detection and prevention engine for HTTP applications that incurs little overhead compared with intrusion detection and prevention systems that reside in separate processes and machines. PHP support: Oracle HTTP Server now provides support for PHP, a popular scripting language that facilitates HTML code generation. Perl Interpreter: Oracle HTTP Server provides an embedded, persistent Perl runtime environment through mod_perl.
